Each Curve & Drowned

In celebration of Valentines day and in honour and love of black women, Each Curve & Drowned come from a collection of 12 poems written by poet Romey sky. DCRM has brought these poems to life with visuals. These poems focus on the two different aspects of romance, love and lust and how these can be celebrated.

In Each Curve, Romey has his eyes closed while he imagines the intimacy of a woman, focusing on physique, the subtleties of her body and what makes her beautiful. Here you see the focus on physical feautres, some may consider this as shallow but it's beautiful non the less and shouldn't go unnoticed.

In Drowned, Romey is no longer dreaming, he's present and grateful for the beauty seen cloaked in gold. This is where the idea of love comes into the image and we see how the colours and intensity change from dark red to vibrant gold. We hear Romey describe love in a different way and move past the shallow ideas and instead drown in the depth of his appreciation of the woman.
